Acknowledging that her fans are quite concerned about what she calls her "recent transformation", singer and social media influencer, A'mari DJ Mona Lisa, says that there's no need to worry because her 140-pound weight loss is simply a part of her multi-level journey to becoming her true self.

A'mari, who is five feet, 11 inches tall, now weighs 135 pounds and is "healthy, confident and happy". However, her 'Goodies', as her fans are called, regularly tell her on social media that she is going to the extreme.

"I have dropped 140 pounds," A'mari told THE STAR. "The fans are very much concerned ... but I am on more than a weight-loss journey. I am a prayer warrior so oftentimes I do prolonged fasting as my soul cries out to God. Too many things are happening."

In an interview with THE STAR last October, A'mari was proudly celebrating a milestone 100-pound weight loss over a three-year period.

She has subsequently lost an additional 40 pounds in six months, which now takes her to less than half of her original body weight. She shared that she has "been carrying around the excess weight of the world-baggage" as regards expectations and disappointments in life.

"It's time that I become my true self and a reflection of God in His infinite powers. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. I am free and it is all that matters. We shall face a time of inflation like never before ... prepare to become impoverished. God bless you all," A'mari said.

She is recording her transformation with photo shoots, the most recent of which shows her at her current weight.

The Neko singer, who made a hard-to-forget appearance on the Sting stage last December, is actively pursuing her musical career, and flew in to Florida this week to record with producer Kemar 'Flava' McGregor. The single is an edgy song, which is yet to be titled. She noted that it was the producer who gave her the lyrics.

"The lyrics are controversial in regard to sexual preferences, but I did not back down. The producer wanted to convey a message. I am an ambassador ... I simply delivered it. I realise that too many people are afraid to express themselves ... but remember that music is the voice of the silent," A'mari said.

A good old frozen pizza is one of the most popular frozen dinnersand for good reason. They're cheap, cheesy, and tasty. Plus, they're convenient. You can make them in the oven or the microwave. Unfortunately, Richards says frozen pizzas are typically made with unhealthy ingredients that can have a detrimental effect on your overall health. "Frozen pizzas are often considered bad for overall health because they tend to be high in calories, unhealthy fats, and sodium, and may contain processed meats and other unhealthy ingredients," she explains.

This frozen meal usually contains two main ingredients: cheese and bread. Some pizzas are also made with toppings like mushrooms, olives, and pepperoni (processed deli meat). While these additions are delicious, they also come can lead to weight gain and health issues if eaten in excess. Richards notes that the cheese is "high in saturated fat and calories," and "the crust may also be high in refined carbohydrates, which can contribute to weight gain and other health problems."

Processed meats like pepperoni come with their fair share of health risks as well. "Many frozen pizzas contain processed meats such as pepperoni, sausage, or bacon, which are high in sodium and can increase the risk of heart disease and other health issues," she warns.

So, even though frozen pizza can be delicious, it's safe to say that eating it on the regular is not a good idea if you want to keep your body healthy and lose weight. "While frozen pizzas can be a convenient and affordable option for busy individuals, they should be consumed in moderation and as part of a balanced diet that includes plenty of whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins," Richards concludes.

Another highly processed microwave meal that you should avoid if you want to lose weight are pre-packaged ramen noodles. While they are a popular and convenient choice for a quick meal, they can also stall weight loss plans and lead to inflammation and chronic bloating. "One of the main reasons for this is their high sodium content. A single package of ramen noodles can contain up to 1,500 milligrams of sodium, which is more than half of the recommended daily intake," Richards warns. Consuming too much sodium can cause water retention, bloating, and increased blood pressure. All of this can lead to weight gain.

And, while microwave ramen noodles are low in protein and fiber, they're also high in refined carbohydrates. "Refined carbohydrates, such as those found in ramen noodles, can cause blood sugar spikes and crashes, leading to increased hunger and cravings for more high-carb, high-calorie foods," Richards says. "Eating a diet high in refined carbohydrates and low in protein and fiber can also lead to overeating and weight gain over time."

Instead of pre-packaged ramen noodles, she recommends opting for noodles with more fiber. "A healthier alternative to traditional ramen noodles is to opt for noodles made from whole grains or vegetables, such as brown rice or zucchini noodles," Richards notes. These ramen noodles are typically low in refined carbohydrates and high in fiber, which can support healthy weight loss and lower blood sugar levels.

While some frozen dinners may be nutritious, many are still processed meals with little to no nutrition that only make weight loss harder and can cause chronic bloating and inflammation. So, ditch the frozen pizza and pre-packaged ramen noodles. Switch them out with healthy alternatives like homemade pizza with fresh ingredients and noodles made from whole grains or vegetables.

Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver showed off her impressive weight loss as she posed up a storm in a pink suit.

Fans were quick to support the soap actor, 59, as she posted a stylish photo on Instagram, looking svelte in a pink suit, black shirt and white trainers, rocking a cropped blonde do.

Sue, who has played Eileen Grimshaw since 2000, teased an upcoming TV appearance in her caption, saying it was "to be confirmed."

The star also thanked her make-up artist, writing: "What a treat to have my make up done by the hugely talented @bryony_blake - thank you!!!"

One supporter wrote: "The weight loss you look amazing."

Corrie co-star Jane Danson commented: "You look fabulous Sue!", while another follower wrote: "Im currently watching you on episodes of Corrie from 20 years ago .. you look younger now."

Sue, who appeared in the most recent series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! has previously branded her fifties the happiest time of her life so far.

Speaking to Prima, she said: "My 50s have been the happiest decade of my life. Im happy with me and where I am, so Im looking forward to seeing what the next decade brings.

"Then again, if it doesnt bring anything, Im just going to have to make something happen myself. Since doing Im A Celeb, my eyes have been opened to all these new experiences. Now, Im just thinking, 'Right, whats my next challenge?'"

The actress won widespread praise for raising awareness of diabetes during her time in the jungle, in which she wore a patch viewers speculated may have been a Dexcom, which monitors glucose levels.

Sue's condition was first reported back in 2011 when she collapsed on the set of Corrie and had to have hospital treatment.

A source told The Sun at the time: "Sue was looking pretty off at around 9am just as we were getting ready for filming. Then all of a sudden she just seemed to collapse and everyone was panicking.

"An ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital."

Sue seems to have taken her health seriously after the incident and has managed to drop a whopping three stone, going from a size 14 to a 12 in 2019.

The star is said to favour the Mediterranean diet, which is high in vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, beans, cereals, grains, fish and unsaturated fats such as olive oil and usually includes a low intake of meat and dairy foods.

Discussing her weight loss, a source told Woman magazine: "Sue was always a self-confessed foodie, who admitted that over-indulgence was her Achilles Heel. Now everything's changed.

"Sue's in her mid 50s so it was a no brainer that cutting down on certain things was what she had to do."

They concluded: "She's in this for the long game and wants to live a long, happy and healthy life."

Recent Subway advertisements showing models injecting themselves in their stomachs, arms and thighs raise questions regarding the ethics of large-scale, consumer-facing campaigns for prescription weight loss medications.

The ads are for telehealth platform Ro (also known as Roman) to promote itsBody Program, which allows people to obtain subscriptions for FDA-approved weight loss injectable Wegovy via telehealth visits.

Subway advertisements in cities like New York give brands the opportunity to reach a substantial audience of overtwo million daily weekday riders. 42nd Street Times Square, one location plastered with Ros Wegovy campaign, clocks around180,000 daily visitors.

That expansive reach offers a huge bump in brand awareness, but there is concern from riders, eating disorder recovery experts and evencelebritiesthat mass advertising of weight loss products may not be a net positive for society. Theres worry that promoting weight lossundoes progressmade with the body positivity and body neutrality movements. Plus, the ads may be triggering for those who have or are recovering from eating disorders.

Its not wrong for folks to want to explore weight loss options, and reaching those consumers via mass transit advertising guarantees brand recognition for Ro. But the question remains: Are there ethical issues to consider when advertising weight loss products on a large scale?

Wegovy is a name-brand semaglutide the same active ingredient used in Ozempic, which is primarily used to treat type two diabetes. Both drugs inhibit the appetite and slow stomach emptying, resulting in users feeling fuller for longer. Users typically eat less food since their appetites are suppressed, and lose weight as a result.

Ros ads for Wegovy are formatted with a clean, minimalist aesthetic and show plus-size models injecting themselves with unbranded shots. A tagline describes the offering as a weekly shot to lose weight in large font and, in smaller font below, adds, with coaching, care and healthy lifestyle changes to make it last.

Certain panels, though not all, give more detail about the drug, its intended uses and its potential side effects.

Adam Hessel, CCO of Ogilvy Health, says that in general, mass transit advertising is a great marketing strategy for building awareness, especially for a new product.Subway advertisements are one of the smartest mediums because you cant avoid it youre stuck there, he says.

Specifically, the weight-loss sector has always thrived with Subway ads, whether its been Jenny Craig or current weight loss products, he says.

Others worry that the messages of these ads dont consider people suffering from eating disorders and body image issues.

The advertisements and social media storm surrounding the new medications [Ozempic and Wegovy] are highly triggering for people with eating disorders, says Kimberly Dennis, M.D., C.E.D.S., co-founder and CEO of SunCloud Health and member of the National Eating Disorder Associations Clinical Advisory Council.

Eating disorder rateshave increased sizably during the pandemic. especially among adolescents, she notes. This will make things worse for those folks.

As a result, the nature of a product like Wegovy requires a thoughtful strategy.A high level of sensitivity and educational information is required to effectively advertise products like this, says Rob Canales, CCO of health and wellness ad agency The 3rd Eye.

As marketers, our [responsibility] is simply to highlight the opportunity these products present in an ethical manner, he adds. So as long as we understand the audience and their needs, and offer up educational resources and a credible solution to those needs, we are fine.

The fact that the models represent the target audience and dont feature thin people who dont need the product is an important distinction for Ogilvys Hessel, which he says gives the campaign a level of authenticity.According to Ro, the models featured in the campaign are all eligible for Wegovy prescription, which means they either qualify asobese or overweight by BMI standards with a weight-related health issue.

If the marketing is not targeting folks with an image thats unrealistic and supermodel-like, then theres room for it, he says.

But the models, though diverse in size, are ultimately represented as a before stage the end goal is for them to lose weight and therefore no longer look as they do in the ads. And this could worsen already prevalent self-image issues.

Focus on weight and weight loss is particularly problematic for people with eating disorders who live in larger bodies or average sized bodies, says Dr. Dennis. This is the majority of folks with eating disorders and the groups who are less likely to be diagnosed and treated by eating disorder experts.

Whats lost in these ads is also the fact losing weight isnt the only way to get healthier and presenting the option in a highly visible, consumer-facing campaign can be harmful.

Body appearance alone isnt indicative of overall health and well-being, notes The 3rd Eyes Canales.

Wegovy is a relatively new product, approved by the FDA in 2021. Side effects include a risk of developing a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid carcinoma, gallbladder disease, kidney disease and suicidal thoughts.

Dr. Dennis worries the gravity of these side effects is not properly underscored in the subway campaign nor is the possibility of developing or worsening an eating disorder as a result of using the drug.

Canales argues that ads for weight loss products shouldnt depict unattainable ideals and should include educational aspects in order to properly inform consumers.

When advertising a product that may result in weight loss for consumers, it is important that marketers consider incorporating an educational communication and marketing strategy, he says. When it comes to health and wellness, transparency and authenticity are key to gaining a consumers trust. In a case like this one, consider defining this medications role and purpose, and perhaps even define obesity.

Id like to see a warning on all of these ads that says, use of this medication may cause you to develop a lifelong and potentially fatal eating disorder; if you now have or ever had an eating disorder, things may get worse or reoccur; and as soon as you stop this expensive medication you willgain weight back, so if you are taking it for weight loss plan to depend on it forever, adds Dr. Dennis.

Some of this information is noted on the landing page for Wegovy on Ros website near the bottom, in an FAQ section that must be clicked on and expanded by users. There is a small warning that notes the potential for developing thyroid cancer nearer to the top of the page.

More prominent on the page is asliding scale widget which, when adjusted to the users current weight, will show how much could be lost by using the drug. The scale goes down to 140 pounds; a person at that weight would have to be 49 to be considered obese by BMI standards, or 50 to be considered overweight with excess weight.

Definitions of the target consumer, including definitions for obese and overweight BMI, is not clearly visible in the ads or on the site.

Experts note there should be no shame in looking into weight-loss medications or otherwise trying to lose weight or achieve satisfaction with ones body.

You cant wrong folks for wanting to be thinner and not have that mindset that you are beautiful the way you are, says Hessel.

A problem arises, though, in failing to stress the fact that healthy bodies come in myriad sizes and promoting an easy solution without adequately disclosing the potential risks can make matters worse. This, in turn, can result in further harm when ads that can trigger people with eating disorders are prominently placed in the public sphere.

Obesity, the so-called enemy that we are waging a war on, is not getting any better nor has it with other weight loss meds that have been on the scene, says Dr. Dennis.

A consumer-facing advertising campaign for weight loss medication is problematic for many reasons, but especially for something like weight loss given how rampant body dissatisfaction, dieting and weight stigma are in the U.S., she adds.

Ro did not respond to requests for comment.

"Don't call them weight-loss drugs; they are antiobesity medications."

Caroline Apovian, MD, brought this up early in a recent interview with Patient Care where the discussion focused on the publicity swirling around the antiobesity medication (AOM) semaglutide 2.4 mg, marketed as Wegovy, and its sister drug for type 2 diabetes, Ozempic.

What seems to be missing from the celebrity celebrations of pounds shed while taking the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists and even left out of news coverage is a statement of the actual clinical indication for the drugs, the labeling approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. There is only rarely use of the word "obesity" and no reference to the fact that obesity is a dangerous chronic disease.

Apovian, an internationally recognized weight management expert and researcher, a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, and codirector of the Center for Weigth Management and Wellness at Brigham and Women's Hospital reviews how AOMs treat the disease of obesity.

Peter Helliar has revealed the amount of weight he lost after three weeks in the I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! jungle.

The comedian and former host of The Project,47, was the latest star to leave the South African jungle on Tuesday's episode.

And while he didn't lose as much weight as his fellow campmate Nick 'The Honey Badger' Cummins, he was only half a kilo behind him with a total loss of 7.5kg.

Peter made the revelation on B105's Stav, Abby and Matt on Wednesday morning.

'[I lost] 7.5kg - it's what I've registered, so I'm not sure if I have caught up with Nick,' he said.

'So 7.5kg off the rig, so I'll have to put that back on. I'll probably put it back on on the flight home!'

The funnyman explained the contestants are weighed before entering the jungle and as soon as they leave, as they undergo a full medical examination.

'You come out and you have this idea that you will go to a nice hotel and have a beer, but you come out and meet with a psych and a medical team to make sure everything is okay,' he said.

'So there's a series of meetings that you have to go through, so I haven't really stopped since I've come out. I had some dinner and rang home and that's about it.'

Peter said he was extremely excited to eat some tasty food after living on rice and beans for three weeks, and the first thing he ate was a bowl of spaghetti bolognese with a beer.

The Melbourne native, who recently left The Project after a decade on the show, said he was asked to enter the jungle 'a couple of times' before this year's season.

He added: 'To be honest, for me, I was on The Project for ten years, so it wasn't really an option for me. In fact, every time they asked me to go on I was a bit worried that they were trying to get me off The Project!

'So I was wary of leaving the desk for too long. [This year]I thought, "Why not?" I haven't got the excuse of the other job so I jumped at it and I had a great time.

'If anyone else gets the chance to do it, I wholeheartedly recommend it.'
