Raven-Symon skewered over 28 pound weight loss and 48-hour fast – Wonderwall

Jun 5th, 2021

Mike Posner is on top of the world literally.

On June 1, the EDM star summited Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, after a 50-day trek. Two days later, on June 3, he shared video of his stunning perspective.

"This morning at 4:35 am, Dawa Chirring Sherpa, Jon Kedrowski, Dawa Dorje Sherpa and Mike Posner summited Mt Everest. That's what I call a sunrise," he said on Twitter this week. "We are now back at camp 2 but not out of the woods until we descend to base camp tomorrow am. Please keep us in your prayers."

Seemingly in a safer spot, on June 3, Mike posted a video with his team from 29,000 feet above sea level.

"Now that's what I call a sunrise. This was hard. I'm exhausted beyond any point of exhaustion I could've conceived of before," he wrote on Instagram alongside the amazing view. "Taking sometime for me but will share some more memories with you once I've had time to process it all."

Mike made the harrowing climb to raise money for the Detroit Justice Center, as he often spoke of the cause during his nearly two-months of climbing. TMZ reported that Mike has thus far raised $229,000 with the climb.

Dr. Jon Kedrowski, one the men on the climb with Mike, posted a video of his own on June 3.He also lauded the music creator for his commitment.

"The sunrise from the top of the world was special, it made me realize once again that the past 20 months of this journey since I first met Mike and was given the privilege to coach him, work with him, and prepare him to help make his dream a reality was a true blessing and adventure I'll always be grateful for," Dr. Kedrowski wrote. "He basically worked on his craft for 20 months all for a shot at a mere 20 minutes on the summit. What a real sacrifice! But over the past nearly two years I also got to see why and how he is such an incredibly talented world class musician."

"He applied that world class work ethic and never wavered in his preparation and desire to dream and also dedicate himself to being the best mountaineer he could be," the caption continued. "He fully immerses himself in his dreams and goals and never stops working at it. This is a valuable lesson we can all take with us."

While on the mountain, the group apparently waited for two tropical cyclones to pass.

"What I learned on this expedition and during my time working with Mike was that his famous slogan#keepgoingis so very true," Dr. Jon said. "Even when we could have quit and gone home like Many others, we went up the mountain again, this time in deeper snow than before. But the most important lesson is that we listened to the mountain, and when the storms cleared mighty Sagarmatha let us in for awhile (8 days on the mountain during the summit push)."

Back in 2019, Mike famously walked from New Jersey to California after being inspired by the deathsof his father and fellow EDM superstarAvicii. He said that he began thinking of conquering Mount Everest while crossing the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and Utah.
